Trip To The Snow!

I know it's been awhile since I have written, sorry, we have been battling that awful cold/flu in our house. Bryan had it a few weeks ago, and last Friday I felt like I was coming down with it, so I have been going to bed early when I can.

We went for a trip to Crestline. A friend of mine has a cabin up there, it is so adorable, and such an easy drive (this coming from someone who always has gotten car sick her whole life while going up to Big Bear). If you ever want to rent it, get in touch with me and I will give you her phone number. Anyhoo, we had such a great time. When we got there, there was still a lot of snow. So we had (and when I say we, you know I mean Bryan and the kids)...lol....some snow to shovel so we could walk up to the door.
The kids had such a great time shoveling and playing in the snow. It was so nice because we didn't really have to go anywhere for the kids to sled, they could sled right next to the house. it was just PERFECT!

While we were there, these two beautiful Golden retrievers came and wanted to play. They were the best dogs! I guess they live up there and their owners just let them out during the day and let them roam around. The kids fell in love with them. If the kids would sled down the hills, the dogs would run beside them, and when the kids would stop and if they would lay down, the dogs would go over and lick them and sit next to them. I mean seriously, they were the best dogs EVER. Bryan wanted to take them home with us! LOL We all did, they were such GREAT dogs!

Lake Gregory is just down aways from the Cabin, so we went down there and walked around. It was COLD!!!!!! The wind was whipping like crazy, but it was just so beautiful and peaceful there!
We can't wait to go back up there again. We all had such a great time, thanks Laurie for letting us stay at your cabin!!! We had an absolutely awesome time!!!!

TADA!!!! I did IT!!!

OK so remember yesterday I showed you pictures of the great chair I bought...let me refresh your memory....lol....
So today I sanded it......
Then primed....Then Painted

Lookin good so far isn't it...nope not going to give you a complete close up because there may be 1 or 2 drip marks...lol

While I was waiting for the paint to dry, I went inside and recovered the cushion (Bryan helped me with this, trying to get ALL those staples out of the cushion almost killed me! LOL It had been recovered 2 times), for my first time at recovering something I'm pretty proud of myself. Right before I started, Nicole called, THANK GOODNESS she did, she gave me a very helpful hint, when it came it to the corners, wrap it like you're wrapping a gift. I tried my best Nicole! LOL

The left side could use a little help...lol, but for my first time, OMG I was so happy with myself!!!

Then came the complete package....are you ready????? Drumroll please......

OMG do you just love it??? I do! I am so excited about it! But not only that, I was just crafty Kim today...lol....I have been seeing on blogs about taking old frames and turning them into chalk boards. So I decided I'm on such a roll let me try that...lol. Here is the before...
I don't have the completed project on this one yet. I need to go tomorrow and get some wood, and hopefully tomorrow night after I come home from work I will be able to finish it! But wait, that's not all....lol...I made this cute family picture frame...
I was unstoppable so I paint another frame
Phew I'm exhausted...lol...all that in one day! But I am LOVING what I have done so far!!!!! I have been working on redo my dinning area, our computer hutch is in there so today while I was out and about, I bought this GREAT hat box....(Courtesy of my brother and his family, they gave me a gift card to Joann's for Christmas...THANKS GUYS!!!

It needs some flowers to go into the pot, and maybe a little something else, but it's getting there.

For Christmas Bryan's mom bought me this cute fruit bowl...thanks O!!

This is the way it looks on our dinning room table.....

Well that's about it for today....lol...sorry I know that was a VERY long post!!! I was just so excited about all that I had done I just had to show you everything! LOL Thanks for looking! :)

Happy 2009!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year Eve. We didn't do much at all. Amanda spent the night at a friends, and Bryan was sick, so the boys and I watched Speed Racer, then they were in bed by 10pm! I didn't even stay up until 12:00am! LOL

Today we went with my friend Lynn and her boys Sam and Matt to Knott's Berry Farm. My parents bought all of us annual passes. We had a great time! We started off in Camp Snoop for my boys (Lynn's boys are 11 and 13).
Then we went on to the bigger rides. Lynn's son Matt (the 11 year old) and Jacob REALLY hit it off, so Matt was able to get Jacob to go on some of the bigger rides, which Jacob LOVED I might add! He's still not on all the rides, but he did go on a few and really liked them.

This was Cody's first time on the Log Ride...

As a matter of fact, I think it was Jacob's first time too, I tried to get Jacob's picture but as you can see he was holding on pretty tight to the rails and wouldn't move, so Matt turned around and gave me a smile...lol

I was trying to get a picture of Cody and I on the ride, but he was a little scared lol Then we went on the rapids ride, Cody was lucky enough to ride with Lynn and I! We all got SOAKED!!!! LOL Cody was drenched from head to toe! Luckily we were on our way out, but before we left we stopped in Ghost Town and found all these zombies standing around! LOL

We had a great time, it was a GREAT way to ring in the New Year!!!! We let Bryan stay home and try and get better and watch his football games in peace!!LOL

We hope you all have a WONDERFUL 2009! We are blessed to have all of you in our life!!!

Christmas take 2

We had our Christmas with my brother and sister in law and nephew yesterday. We had such a nice time, my parents came over and we did our traditional Subway sandwich and my moms homemade macaroni salad (YUMMY!!!). We had a great time, and now I can official say CHRISTMAS IS OVER! Phew, I'm pooped and ready for all the Christmas stuff to come down, I'll be doing that tomorrow after I get home from work.

Auntie and Uncle got the boys some awesome clothes

They got Amanda some great painting supplies, I don't have a picture of Amanda with her painting supplies because she was always holding her baby cousin Jimmy!

Kelly and Bryan were bonding...lol

While Amanda, Cody and I were bonding...lol

Christmas Day was my mom's 70Th birthday, so we celebrated it last night...Happy Birthday Nana! We love you!!!!

And if after everything my brother and sister in law bought the kids wasn't enough, my brother just had to go out and buy the kids Nerf helicopters...he's trying to show Amanda how to control them...he is still such a kid! Nothing wrong with that!

Then he was trying to teach my kids some wrestling tips...LOL When we were growing up we used to LOVE to watch wrestling!

We had such a great day with them, but to be honest, I'm glad that the holidays are over so things can start to get back to normal! I LOVE Christmas, it's my favorite holiday, but when it's all said and done, I'm glad it's over! We had a WONDERFUL holiday with all our family and friends. For those of you that we weren't able to be with, we missed you and hope that next year we can be together! Here is to a great 2008 and an even better 2009!
